::017:: Nice post with great pics. My stock cover has a burn on it, so I'mhoping this will be a good repair replacement for me. ::022:: ::26::

Can't wait for your review. I was about to pull the trigger on the Sargent but this seat looks promising ... :-\

First Impressions of the Seat Concepts Seat - Based on a 15 minute commute into work this morning. 36 degrees out, sunny and the bike just turned 10,000 miles. ::012::

I have a ~28" inseam, and this seat is taller than stock and taller than the Sargent by close to an inch, I would guess. I am definitely on my toes now.

The SC foam has a very dense but cushy feel, so it absorbs shocks well. The foam on the Sargent seems to transfer shocks and vibrations through the seat much more. The SC foam is also very thermally stable, that is it doesn't seem to change much as temps change. It was soft at 36 degrees, and didn't get much softer as it warmed under me.

The SC cover strikes a nice balance between grippy and slippery. I did not slide around on it at all, but could move with ease when needed. It is grippier than the Sargent, but slightly less so than the stocker.

Comfort. Well, 15 minutes is really not enough to tell, but it felt good. The Corbin I had hurt within 2 minutes, so this is progress. The Sargent has me squirming in 1.5 to 2 hours. I hope to put in a 4 hour ride this afternoon if I can escape from work... More info to follow.

For taller riders, this is surely a great option. The bang for the buck factor is huge! ::018::

Yes, nothing is destroyed in the process and it can be reversed.

It took me about 30 minutes to remove the stock cover and foam and install the new foam and cover. I have a pneumatic stapler, but a good mechanical one will work as well. You need a decent needle nosed pliers and screw driver or staple puller as well.

If I tried this and didn't like it could I just change it back to my stock seat ?

I have mine all put together but haven't found the time to test it. :( The kit goes together nicely and I maybe have invested an hour in it from start to finish. A carpet staple puller makes quick work of the stock seat!

I rode a little over 300 miles on Sunday and the seat was a major comfort improvement over stock and the Sargent seat. Very easy to move fore and aft, but no slipping around under hard acceleration or braking. Still coming to grips with the height, but that should not be a major issue for most folks.

Thanks for getting this out into the market Seat Concepts! ::012::

Great to hear as I have also got one coming to me this week. Looked like a good alternative solution opposed to a whole new seat. Affordable too. ::022:: ::26::

Good review motopumps. Thats a good looking seat that seems to address the slope, density and grip. Has anyone bought one for their pillion? Any feedback ? My wife dosen't like the way her seat has a square edge to it.

The rear seat is a matching cover only at this time, no foam. :(

Thanks Motopumps. I may have to follow Checkwrecks and get an airhawk. We have a four day to the Ozarks trip planned in a couple of weeks. I guess I'll know more by the end of that ride. It will be her first multi day trip.

By rounding up the corners using new foam, you could (maybe have to) make the seat a bit wider using the rear seat cover to match. It's probably not that difficult to do, there isn't much shape to the rear seat.

I dropped a line to Seat Concepts imploring them to offer a similar rear seat upgrade as well. My reasoning is that this bike well suits 2-up riding and I can't get away with upgrading my seat unless I upgrade my wife's too. I should have offered to beta test :lamp:

Got my Seat concepts foam and covers installed today. Fitment is excellent, Looks great on the bike. Installation was pretty easy. First impression of feel is really good. All in all a great product and a really good alternative to much more expensive seating options. I am very pleased as it is a big improvement over stock for me. ::008:: ::012::

Put some miles on the SC seat and have mixed impressions about it. The seat fits and looks good but after after a couple of hours or so I'm squirming to find a new seating position. Is it better then stock? Yes, and I've done 500+ miles on the stocker. The foam seems a bit on the soft side and I'm hoping it will compress and give a firmer seat that will mold to my bottom. Overall I feel it's a good value and only time will tell on how comfy it will be.

What cover material are you all going with? Had this on my KLR and it is a huuuuge difference for marginal costs compared to other seat manufacturers.

I'm a bit caught up on whether or not to wait if they'll offer a pillion foam upgrade with the forward slant eliminated. If I buy the cover for $45 now, do you think they can just ship the foam if they come out with it?

obviously i could drop them an email, too, but if someone catches this and inquires about it in the next few days, I'll wait to bother them...
