I upgraded the stock seat on my 2016 with a Seat Concepts regular density foam seat. I emailed with a couple questions and received a thorough reply a couple days later so I pulled the trigger and ordered. SC said the seat would ship within 7-14 days. Day 14 and the confirmation email arrived, my seat shipped. I don't recall how many days but shipping was pretty quick.
The seat fit on my stock pan very well, easy installation with the provided instructions. Great!
The seat looks wider in the rear and higher in the front, it looks impressive. I have 400 miles on the seat and on a 1-10 scale I give it a 5. It is, without a doubt, an improvement over the stock seat. Unfortunately there are only two comfortable positions on the SC seat; all the way back and all the way forward. The down side in the all the way back position is you run into the same problem as the stock seat in that you slide forward, in this case it's just toward the lower seat center. The all the way forward position is nice but it also puts the most bend and strain on the knees and cramps the legs in general. I find myself switching between both positions way too often to stay comfortable. But what's the biggest source of the discomfort? It's the ridge between the flat top of the seat and the side of the seat. It digs into my upper thighs almost as bad as the stock seat.
Maybe I need to break the seat in more? I've heard MANY riders say SC is the best upgrade they've ever made. I was hoping to be in that group but no dice. Keep your eyes open for a SC seat for sale soon perhaps. We'll see.
Keep in mind everyone's heiny and preference is different so this is only mine. For reference I'm 6'3", 240#, big frame, long arms and torso.
