they furnish the seat pan and it is fully assembled
Ahh, didn't notice that. $269 for the whole deal, a VERY fair price, especially compared to Corbin, Sargent, Saddleman and the like.

Doesn't look any lower than standard seat IMO.

It actually looks quite different. See how on my original, the seat is fairly flat coming back off the tank? Compare that with the upsweep in the new low seat.

I bit the bullet and bought one of these - It is quite a bit lower that stock - low enough that I do not fell I need handlebar risers. It is definitely more comfortable than stock. I weigh 280 lbs so I think they put in heavier foam. It is cold here so I have not ridden on it much but hope to give it a longer ride soon. I have not tried other aftermarket seats so I do not know how it ranks in the open market.

ToyPro1,
Have you had a chance to put more miles on the Seat Concept Low seat? If so, what do you think of the seat thus far? I just ordered one. I'll be receiving it next Tuesday.

Sincerely,
Jarrod

It is much better than stock - being lower really helps - still not perfect though - I may just be more tender in the rear than I used to be - need to ride more

Right on. I carved some out of my stock seat to lower the seat some and also remove the forward slant. It's an ok fix however, the guys at Seat Concept told me the Low is better than stock. I did 350 miles on the stocker. If I can get 500 miles in a day on the Seat Concept Low then I'll be more than happy. I normally ride 130 miles one way to work and the stocker does the job. I do occasionally ride 300 plus in a day. I've had a Russell Day Long on another bike and it was just too tall for me. My arse was happy but I couldn't touch the ground adequately.

Looking forward to hearing the feedback back on the SC low.
Just about ready to pull the trigger on one.
I switched my stock for a Corbin carbon fiber. Nice saddle. Perfect height. Comfy. Unfortunately, I get a case of, "Sleepy Pee-Pee" about 75 miles into a ride.

Thanks in advance for the feedback.

I'll have it Tuesday and I'm sure as soon as it comes in I'll be out for a ride. I'll tune back in to give a report. I shaved my stocker down and it's just not comfortable to me. I shaved it down to get rid of the slant and to lower the height. I accomplished both of my objectives by doing that but, I'm wanting to get off of the bike after 3 hours in the saddle. Fingers crossed, this Seat Concepts Low will do the trick. I called Seat Concepts prior to pulling the trigger and the salesmen said this LOW is more comfortable than the stocker[subjective advice I know]. I did ask if this LOW seat cured the slant, he said yes [although he did say the standard foam and cover kit was definitely better way to go for slant cure]. I really want the 1" lower height that the LOW provides. He also gave me advice on picking the right material for a cover. I told him I didn't like the gripper material on the stocker. He said, go with the carbon fiber, so I did. I'll check back on Tuesday with some pics and a report.

I received LOW seat yesterday. I had to shorten the tongue, (1/8th inch) that slips into the slot to the rear of seat. I rode approximately 90 miles with one gas stop, otherwise non stop. I really like the carbon fiber cover. It allows me to move from front to rear when I'd like to. I'll have another 300 miles on it over the next few days. We will see how it pans out with some long rides. This seat kind of reminds me of a Sargent seat, but I think this one is more forgiving (in a good way). One other thing I might mention; this seat does away with the high/low option. The plastic high/low thing a ma bob that is moved to high and low positions on the stock seat is removed, then this seat sits directly on the frame. This seat is also slightly dished where you'd likely sit most of the time to the rear. As far as the slant goes...this seat seems level. I'm not being thrown into the tank upon stopping. I have the 2015' ES, I set the suspension to; one rider with luggage and I can flat foot. I really like this particular highlight of this seat. I'm 5' 9", 31" inseam, 190lbs. I will mention, a few years back I owned a 2009' BMW 1200GSA, I had the Sargent seat. I couldn't flat foot on this bike. I never could warm up to the idea of not being able to get both feet on the ground firmly. I wasn't willing to alter the suspension to afford the opportunity to flat foot. After 2 years of ownership, I sold it. I feel that this Yamaha Super Tenere ES is everything the BMW was however, better, due to the simple fact I can flat foot. Kinda reminds me of my Road King. I'll keep posting updates as I rack up the miles. I'll also post pics soon.

Looks like we have the same body type.
Thanks for the feedback and looking forward to anything else you might want to add.

I just rode a little over 300 miles with a fuel stop and another brief stop on this seat concept low. I'm happy with the carbon fiber cover as it allows me to move forward and backwards without the annoying grip of the stock seat cover. I am also very happy with the fact I can flat foot at stops. I'm going to add some 2" Rox Risers in order to aid in straightening me up. If I sit back in the seat I'm hunched over a bit. I'm certain the Rox Risers will cure this. Last time I checked for the Rox Risers they were on back order. Hopefully they'll be available soon.
