Hi folks,
I am a new owner of a Super Tenere, and unfortunately inherited this from my father.
I have been riding it for a few months and have found myself slightly uncomfortable with its height and size for my abilities on a bike. I am a new rider and so I feel the need to scale back to keep my desire for riding. I'll be posting feelers here about thoughts and help with how to potentially move along my Father's bike to a place it gets ridden more often.

Welcome, You will feel more comfortable with the size as the miles go by, but by saying that you "unfortunately inherited" from your father, you give us the idea that it is "probably" that your father is no longer with us. In that case two things. First, take your time to sell it, your father was not wrong when he bought the S10. And in second place. It would be interesting to know if your father was part of this forum

Dude all sounds normal to me. I would say don't be worried about dropping it we have all done it. With a heavy bike it just takes more discipline when going slow or just moving it about. Bit of practice and all that. It's a great bike, deserves a chance.

Hi ScottySkinner, take your time there is no rush to ride or sell it. With time you will get more relaxed and used to it. That bike will give you plenty of years of happy riding and great memories. Oh and welcome

Welcome Scotty,

Advices mentioned above are good ones, give it a chance. Sorry to hear about your father.
Was he a member here also?

Regards,
Stefan

Hi ScottySkinner, let us know where you are located, there may be S10 owners near you. If you find the S10 too tall, then remember it is a fairly simple task to lower the S10 by changing the rear suspension links, dropping the forks through the triple clamps and resculpting the seat.

It might be worth you looking at a BikeSafe or Enhanced Rider Course, both will help with slow control techniques which will really help you deal with the weight of the bike.

Wow! I am really grateful for these super supportive replies you all. Thank you for responding to my intro. I am going to keep you updated on here as to what i ultimately decide. I am currently in Minneapolis area. I have been doing as much slow riding in parking lots as i feel comfortable with and would definitely like to put on crash bars on the sides for that reason. Anyway. Thank you again....hello....and much appreciate this intro to this community!
