I was surfing through Kijiji (London, Ontario today) and Inglis Cycle is advertising a new zero KM 2018 Tenere for just over $16K (Canadian) I'm sure freight and deliver would be extra. Check it out. SHUMBA

Check out Kijiji in London Ontario and look at what Inglis Cycle has. I'm sure it's an ES 2018 new. There is/was an ABS 2018 new in Tilbury of all places. It was on Kijiji as well.
I bought mine from Hully Gully.

I actually met some of the guys from Tilbury and they gave me a good price on the 2018 but this one is a bit better. A friend had actually bought a Triumph from Inglis last year and I was very impressed with the service so I would tend to lean towards them just because of that. I had looked at them at the beginning of the year and was going to be checking them every month until the price came down to a more reasonable level, thought it would take until March or April though.

Your absolutely right, if a Tenere is what you want, then you better hurry and get a deposit in on the last one at Inglis. I wish I had waited, but, I traded in my Africa Twin and my CB650F and a little cash for the Tenere.
The guys in Cambridge were low-balling me on trade values so I went to Hully Gully.
If you're not trading, just buying you won't find a better deal than what Inglis has. Used, there's a few out there.
I got the last 2018 at Hully Gully. The 2019's are unchanged I'm told, just colour and a higher price.
Give Vos in Woodbridge a call maybe they have something, they're a big dealership.
I'm in Stratford, you??

One of my problems (there are many LOL!) is I have not actually ridden one yet. I am pretty much in a toss up between the Triumph Tiger 1200 and the Tenere. I have taken the Tiger out and loved it, but it is also $5k to $6k more. We are going to be doing some off road tours (Colorado this year, Alaska next year etc) so I have a feeling it will get dropped or at least take a bit of a beating so it would pain me to drop the Tiger. Plus it is a second bike so I would prefer to keep the cost down. Plus I am thrifty, not cheap, just extremely cost conscious! I don't mind spending more if I know it will be a good value for me. But again, the big thing for me is I have not been able to ride one yet so I would hate to spend that much and not like it, I would rather spend the extra and get the Triumph. I had my heart set on the 800 Tiger but after riding it I realized I really did not like it, just was not the bike for me, too bad as I really wanted to like it.
No trades so I don't have to worry about that, and either cash or finance, what ever gets me the better deal. I am flexible on location too, for me to do a fly and ride to Ottawa or Montreal is actually cheaper and more convenient than having to drive out to London. And one of the two dealers in Ottawa had it for a cheaper price last year but they sold it around late November, oh well no big loss. Just means I didn't have to transport or store it.
Inglis has actually had that bike since last year and there are a few around so I can be patient.
I did talk to Vos and they wanted to sell me a '19 for $2,000 more, but they would give me a $1,000 off. Um? No thanks. Dewalt in Innisfil had a used one with 4000km (something like that) listed in autotrader for $15,990 in December and then at the bike show they had it as a "Show Special' for $16,250. Was pretty scratched up and dirty too.
I am in Whitby so not too far away plus I can hop on a Porter flight to some of the places they go and be there in less time than it takes to drive!

Sounds like you have all bases covered. I haven't ridden anything other than the Africa Twin, as I owned a 2016 for 30,000 km in 2 years. Great bike ...chain drive.
Long haul, comfort reliability from what I have read and that's a lot of reading various reviews, the Tenere wins in all categories. It will do everything, but it's not the best at everything. Having said that, it's not the fastest, it doesn't have the most tq hp, you cannot turn off the traction control, or for trail riding there's something else you cannot turn off, or maybe it is the traction control ? I sat on a Tiger 1200, very tall bike. I'm 5 foot 8 inches and bit, so all of these adventure machines are tall for me. Lower seat seats are available $$$. Tenere has been in production for some time now and lots of aftermarket farkles are available.
I finished high school at Henry Street in 1969-1970. I'm older than you I'm sure...age 68.
My sister lives in nearby Brooklyn along with other relatives in your area. THIS THE BEST time of year to shop for a new/used bike. Bike show at the Enercare Centre soon.

I like the ease of maintenance and dealer network for Yamaha too. Not sure there are any Triumph dealers there.
At 6' I don't have a problem on any of them but at 200+ lbs more Hp/tq is better! So the Triumph wins on that, plus it is a lighter bike and that electric windscreen is awesome.
Darn decisions ;)

I too am 6', but I'm 300lbs; wife is 150lbs. Solo, or two up, you'll be happy with the power. Yamaha has matched the power and gearing quite nicely. My son thinks the Tenere is quicker to 30mph than his FJR. Not sure I agree with him; I love the FJR's rocket motor. Just find the bike that feels right. I too, do not like to waste money; bought the ES.

I don't know how the Canadian dollar is doing, but I bought my 2017 brand new for $11.5k out the door from the dealership. $16k plus freight and setup doesn't sound very good at all... And regarding the Triumph, I had a 2015 Tiger XcX and I loved the bike (especially that inline 3) but it was an absolute lemon. I will never own a modern Triumph again, and I will advise everyone else against them for as long as the company exists for the way they handle recalls & warranty work.
