Were you in a car or on the bike? The reason I'm asking is that if you were riding you must have a pretty loud horn - and I'm curious because I'm considering a loud horn for my S10.

Sounds like he potentially prevented the collision or could be a coincidence the car corrected at the same time. If the bike was in the cars blind spot then it could have been the merging movement (changing position) of the car that made the bike visible at the last second.
