I'm in.
Ditto that -- I've ridden my Sargent equipped KLR waaaaaaay farther in a day than a person really should on a KLR. Probably could've done it on the stocker too, but would've been agony.... :'(gunny said:Pre-registered and can't wait. I love the Sargent seat on my KLR, hate the Corbin seat on my V-strom. From this point on, it's always going to be Sargent for me.
Gunny, I agree!!!gunny said:Pre-registered and can't wait. I love the Sargent seat on my KLR, hate the Corbin seat on my V-strom. From this point on, it's always going to be Sargent for me.
Heard many complaints about Corbin but... ALL Corbin seats come with one free fitting. I had two free fittings with my KLR seat.digitalmoto said:Gunny, I agree!!!
Corbin Bastards! That's what I say.
I ordered a Corbin saddle for my DL-1000. The web site said the saddle was 1 inch lower than stock. I swapped emails with a sales guy. He assured me the saddle would be 1 inch lower than stock. When it arrived, the POS was 1 inch taller than stock! I was more than a little upset. The sales guy said "No problem. Send it back. For another $150 bucks we'll fix it." He said he'd "work with me on it." ::010::
No refund. No customer service. No way I'm doing that again.
I sold the saddle to a buddy who's over 6'. He loves it.

Not when I bought mine. I was talking directly with the Corbin rep. First he sold me a saddle that didn't match the advertised description, then he wanted more money to make it right. No cash. No fix. Period. Being a fairly stubborn guy I refused to give them another dime. And we're not talkign about simple shipping...tomatocity said:Heard many complaints about Corbin but... Not to argue that Corbin has had terrible customer service posted by many motorcycle riders. I eat lunch at the Wizard Diner 3-4 times a year and have seen many of the CS Reps come and go. I bought a seat in July 2006 and had it adjusted (nosed) in 2007. I was there in June 2011 and had the seat adjusted (cupped) again. No cost. They have a great diner with excellent food and service.digitalmoto said:Not when I bought mine. I was talking directly with the Corbin rep. I did that between the '10 and '11 seasons and although I felt better, the saddle did not. Seems I must have a lot less padding back there now!! ::015::tomatocity said:If I lose 30-40 pounds surely any seat will feel better as well as me feeling better.
I'm not buying the whole production saddle thing. If they're not matching foam compression to rider weight, they're not getting my money. Production seats attempt to do what the OEM saddle does in trying to accommodate a wide range of rider weight and body makeup with one saddle.Ulysses said:Don't know if anyone saw this, but I see that Sargent has a pre-registration form ( http://www.sargentcycle.com/yamwstenere.htm ) which states:
"We are pre-registering folks who express an interest in the seat prior to its release. This program is an email notification program, wherein we send you an email with a special promotion code when it is ready, and make it available to you at a special, "below-retail" introductory price for a limited time."
I have thrown my name in...
OEM seats work for many, as do some of the production aftermarket offerings. I'm one of the customers that has had EXCELLENT luck with Sargent seats on many different bikes and plan to get one for my SuperT when available.Tremor38 said:I'm not buying the whole production saddle thing. Yeah, I suppose my frame for mind is I would rather pay extra $100.00 or so for say a Renazco, Russel or other custom seat, but that's an individual preference. I probably wouldn't have a problem with getting a production a saddle if they at least asked the rider's weight to set-up the proper foam compression. With my narrow azz and light weight, the shape of the seat isn't quite as important as the compression.simmons1 said:Is my Sargent as comfortable as my custom Russell on my ST1300 for long days? Heck no. That said, the Sargent is a HUGE improvement over the Stock Seat.
On my ST1300 the Sargent is good for multiple 400-500 mile days, the Russell is good for multiple unlimited mile days. Which means for most people the Sargent will be fine comfort/mileage wise.
Currently using a Spencer modified Seat on the Tenere and it is big improvement over stock, especially considering the price.
Nah, just said it was 'around the corner'...simmons1 said:Did you get an availability date?
Hopefully it is not a long sweeper. LOLMellow said:Nah, just said it was 'around the corner'...
