S10 wanna be

Howdy all, I'm Jake and I'd love to own an S10. The used market isn't really what I'd hoped and I have to thin my current herd a bit, but I've pretty much decided on the Yamaha as my new bike. I currently own a 2004 Thruxton that is going up for sale and a 2008 DRZ400sm with a built motor that I'll get rid of for funding. I love both bikes but I want something larger to tour on with the wife.

and yeah, there doesn't seem to much of a used market at all, the occasional fully outfitted divorce/life change sale, but not much else

Very few second handers show up in OZ.

I had to jump at the first S10 to come along after waiting 6 months. Wife wasn't that impressed but hey, I intend to keep this thing a while.

Ticking all the boxes for me.

Good luck finding a used one Jake. New ones at dealers are also not that easy to find close by.

Welcome Aboard Jake.

It seems that the used market is bound up a little, probably because the resale prices are strong, the supply is short, and people looking to pick a used one up are not willing to pay the going price (ie. expecting a smokin" deal but just not happening yet). They are out there, but expect to pay for one. Good Luck in your search.

jake, I bought my S10 used. When it popped up on ADVrider I jumped all over it immediately and barely beat out the next guy that called. Keep a close eye on this forum, ADVrider, cycletrader, craigslist, wherever. If one comes up, make that call right away. It won't last long. You may have to do a fly and ride, but that's part of the adventure. ::008::
