Have heard bad reports on this site about the stock headlites. Well, last nite a pal and I did a night ride out onto the country backroads till midnite and I must say I was impressed with the stockers. They give a wide angle out both sides with plenty of light out front. Felt confident riding briskly. The lights are not the pure white/blue lights emitted from LEDs or HIDs but certainly decent. I think part of the problem S10 riders are having is not adjusting their headlites up enough. Easiest way is to undo the 2 bolts under the light and stick in a couple of hose washers. Makes a world of difference. Try it, you'll like it! ::012::

Another good thing I also like about the headlights is that both right and left come on in low and high beam unlike many bikes equipped with twin headlamps, where only the low beam comes on at start up and stays that way unless you turn the high beam on. That's probably why they have a good spread at night too.

I've always felt the stock headlights to be above average. The only issue most have is how that nice, wide and fairly far-reaching swath, becomes a thin, vertical one while you're banking through a corner. That's where a set of fog lights do a good job of filling the void.

I used to ride a Strom, with Narva lamps, I was spoiled.

I think the S10 lights are good not great though.

It's just that Side of the road 100m away and corners that are the problem.

The stock headlights are not bad at all.. However, the abrupt cut-off does make it a bit tough to ride twisties at night. I'm thinking the Rigid industries - or squadron leds - would be a nice addition to fill in those dark spots in those conditions. The adaptive headlights on the BMW K1600 are pretty cool, too bad all bikes don't have some system like that.

::026:: The squadrons can really widen out the light pattern (depending on where you aim them).
