Have replaced the H7s on my 2014 once so far. See I have another one of the two that is out again. Replaced again last night. Anyone notice the bulbs don't seem to fit in their receptacles very well on the S10, or is it just me?
Good info. Thanks. I'll try that 7 O'clock position. Think the ones I bought had too large a tang, maybe. I'll try again.Cycledude said:The tab of the H7 goes near the 7 o'clock position , it's to bad Yamaha didn't build the headlights so it was easier to tell where the tab is supposed to go and the service manual never ever mentions the tab.
I tried a set of the high dollar Sylvania bulbs, $30 and up for a set, yes they were significantly brighter than regular H7 bulbs but they didn't last 6,000 miles in the Tenere .
So I decided to try the LED bulbs that many folks here were recommending , https://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/p/1156/52042/Cyclops-Adventure-Sports-LED-Upgrade-Replacement-Headlight-Bulb-?term=cyclops+super+tenere
Wow they put out way more light than the high dollar Sylvania bulbs did and actually use less power, it's the best $160 I've spent on the Tenere.
I live and commute 60 miles a day where there are lots of deer. I want to SEE!Standby diver said:I found some h7 bulbs at home depot for about $2 each. In the tool section of all places. They are the lowest output ones, which have the longest life. Maybe worth checking out your local homedepot.

I got the 7 o'clock tip from cyclops , it was in the installation instructions that came with the new LED kit, before that I just tried to pay attention to where the old bulbs were before I took them out but was never quite sure I was doing it right, the 7 o'clock tip just makes it a little easier.RED CAT said:Good info. That was what I remembered, but it seems that headlight bulbs are going out on random Gen 1 and Gen 2 bikes.RED CAT said:The Gen 2 bikes don't have the Headlight Harness problem.
I purchased a set of these due to your recommendation. I do have a question. Did you have to modify anything to make these fit or are they plug and play? I should be receiving them in a couple days and was wondering what kind of project to expect. ::003::Cycledude said:The tab of the H7 goes near the 7 o'clock position , it's to bad Yamaha didn't build the headlights so it was easier to tell where the tab is supposed to go and the service manual never ever mentions the tab.
