Hello!

I am new to this forum, from Dubai, UAE.

I have always wanted to own a good motorbike, and affording one in Dubai is easy. Almost 0% taxes, fuel is cheaper than water and loans are easily available. I've always wanted a fast bike and the R1 was always my dream and will still dream about it. But when you are in UAE, you begin thinking practically. That's where the Super Tenere kicks in. I've never ridden one, but surely I need one. I am from India and with wonderful biking places back home, UAE has not much to offer. But when I am on the bike, I get relieved!

UAE is a very dangerous place for bikers is what is being said, but it is rides that give me pleasure, breaks and something I can be myself with. I have booked for the matt grey ST10, without the ES though. I will be very often riding with my better half and would require few accessories for the motorbike. I am worried as to what to go in for:
- Skid Plate
- Headlight Bezel
- Manifold Gaurd
- Left and Right Panniers
- Crash Gaurd Black

All the above accessories from Touratech is almost US$ 2500!! Bad bit is there are no many second sales in this region. The biggest chunk of money is in the Panniers! Anything other than touratech, has to be imported from Europe or US.

Any other brands or suggestions are most welcome. I am hoping to learn a lot from this forum. In a week or so, I will have the motorbike.. Yippie!! ::26::

Happy Riding!

Best Regards,
DDSouza

Dubai cannot be more dangerous than Mumbai surely??? Nah, probably is! actually having driven in Arabic countries. Just a question, do you really need the panniers? I personally like soft luggage and tend to travel light with good engine guards.

Well, I wouldnt mind soft luggage, but the problem would be when I have to carry a laptop, or my clothes to work or want to change my shoe and maybe keep the helmet. I know Dubai is safe in terms of theft, but I do not want to risk it. Panniers can be locked and are more safe to the luggage within and the users in comparison to soft luggage. I know it is a rip off, but what are my options?

Welcome. Maybe a top case is all the hard luggage you need. A place to lock up a helmet, a place to carry shoes, a laptop, etc. And it will give your passenger a backrest. Then you can add soft side bags as needed.

Welcome from Washington State!

Lots of Euro makers of luggage for the Tenere. In addition to TouraTech, there are Metal Mule from UK, Bumot and Holan and a host of others. Use your favorite search engine and look for "Super Tenere Panniers". I like to use an "Image" search for pics and links to various accessories.

Happy hunting!
