I recall taking mine to a Yamaha dealer a few years back for a valve check, and even they had never seen one before. At a different Yamaha dealer, they told me they'd sold one. This was sometime prior to the pandemic, maybe 2018, so at that point the model had only been available for a paltry eight years. In nine years of riding and over 100,000 miles, I could probably still count on two hands the number of these that I've seen in the wild. I don't think I've ever even seen a promotional poster for one in a dealership.
I swear, whoever was in charge of marketing for this bike took lessons from people trying to sell you a colonoscopy.
Word of mouth must be a powerful thing, for this bike to still be selling after 13 years while Yamaha ignores it like the relative at Thanksgiving who won't shut up about space aliens.
