I have rattling noises coming from my clutch , i fitted new friction plates last month and still the noises are there i was wondering if the Gen2 2014 and up clutch basket is a solution to eliminate the rattles
bike is a 2010 and has nearly 95.000 kms anyone done this upgrade already ? also i realise the Gen2 clutch basket is nearly half price compared to the Gen1
any help info or tips are welcome thanks

Lots of people have done it. My 2012 has a 2014 basket, original discs and plates with 90,000 miles. Pulls strong.

Hi Skippy (thanks, now the song is in my head )

Anyway, I have a Gen1 bike and did the Gen2 basket upgrade a few years and about 35k miles back. On my bike the improvement was significant. The bike was quieter, smoother and that horrible clutch chudder had disappeared, the bike also seemed to pick its revs up a little quicker. Overall the bike was just so much nicer to ride. I could hear and feel the difference on first start up after the change. I’d highly recommend it!

Also, if you go ahead with the change, I have a guide for the job which may be useful. Note, you’ll need a clutch holding tool (eBay special) and a torque wrench that goes up to about 130nm. Overall though, an easy job and about 45 mins effort.

I have done that same swap to a 2014 clutch basket. there is less noise but don't expect it to be much quieter. this is a noisy machine. How ever in my case it made my bike run way better! the rattling clutch basket was fighting the engine. huge improvement for me.
