I've noticed lately that mt Tenere goes from Tour mode to Sport without me touching it. At first I thought I was going insane but tonight on the way home from work I caught it red handed switching by itself. It's pretty annoying since I am usually in tour mode and for some reason it'll go to sport and the bike can almost jump out from underneath me. Has this happened to anyone else?

Sounds like an issue with the handlebar switch, could be on its way out. Open it up and you will see a tab holding it in place, I suspect either that tab is or about to snap off, probably worth cleaning that anyway once opened......

I'd disassemble and see if you can clean the metal contacts.

If it happens while you’re closing the throttle, then the problem must be from the switch itself but if it happens while otherwise, then bigger problem is expected...

THAT is a very good point.

Mine is the switch. I noticed that if I jiggle the switch (like a little up or down or right pressure) it switches modes. I figured out thats its a lot easier to check while stopped with power on (or idling).

I've always been a bit hard on that switch I'm probably lucky that I got 11months/11kMiles out of it.
