I think I have decided get a day long seat for my 2015 Tenere. I am not debating between the sport or the "classic" version. my main concern for getting the seat is the numbness I experience in a place that should never be numb. Currently, I don't do a lot of off road riding (non actually) but I think it is something I want to try and start doing sooner than later. I currently use my stock seat in the high position with the seat mod. I would like to get some feedback from some current day long owners. Being 6'3 and 250lbs I am wanting to make sure I pick the right option. If you wouldn't mind posting pictures as well I would appreciate that.

You will want the spring option for your weight.I have sunbrella seat with vinyl sides.Best seat I ever owned.Lots of pictures of day long just search around.Best to keep stiching to a minimum for water intrusion.

I have the Sunbrella top with vinyl sides and like this combo. I've ridden in both warm weather and pouring rain in the cold and it's all good. I especially like the breath ability in warm weather. I should have done this a LONG time ago. I also got the heating element which is a real plus up here in Oregon winters.

You won't be disappointed. I'm 6'-4" 260# and very pleased with the RDL. I had the factory seat in the high position as well. When I put the RDL on it was too high, felt like I was on top of my bike, not part of it. Then I remembered it was in the "high" position. Put it in the "low" position and fell in love.

Forgot to mention...all vinyl, heavy duty "suspension", no heat. I've got the rain cover from them, works well enough. Pretty sure there was a discount to order in the winter.

Last summer I rode 1230 miles in 20 hours only stopping for gas and food. My butt was never sore, legs were (still need some highway pegs)

I have one similar in design to the one posted by pnelson but I got all vinyl (mine looks exactly the same but with black vinyl rather than the gray). I'm 6'2" 275# so I got the heavy duty suspension as well. Even though I'm 6'2", I only have a 30" inseam so at full preload, I'm on my toes because the RDL seat sits so much higher though if you normally use the high setting, you could counteract the additional height by using the low setting.

After using it for several hundred miles on short trips, I just did a 4-day 1200 mile trip and had absolutely no issues with comfort. Very happy. The Sargent seat I had was killing me after only a few hours which is why I sucked it up and got the RDL.

I will say, I also did the seat mod that everyone does on the stock seat so that it isn't as pitched forward and that helped as well.

I used Jimmy's thread pics to model what I wanted for Russel, and I love my seat. The one thing that was a little disappointing to me was that the Sunbrella fabric stained the first time it got wet. I haven't tried to clean it, so it might not be a big deal (really not a _big_ deal either way) but it did make my seat look old a week and a half into ownership.

Also, I still had to play with the grommets to get the right angle, but I'm there now. I did the Void rally a few weeks ago, and between the rally and the trip home I did 2300 miles between Friday morning at 9am and SUnday at 1:30PM, and I never one time had any seat discomfort of any kind. I've never experienced that before.

Also, I'm 6'3" 260, and I got the HD suspension. I'm not familiar with the 'sport' option so I can't comment on that.

Surprised your sunbrella stained. My seats get wet a lot with no staining.I wipe off moisture in the morning and go.My sunbrella is 3 years old still looks new.Maybe you have a lot of stichiing which can take in moisture?

I got the heated version with the gripper vinyl. I haven't changed the seat angle yet, but I will have to. I did notice that the front edge needs to be taken down a bit and if I change the seat angle, it'll be worse. I know RDL does free adjustments, but it costs me around $100 shipping each way from Canada. I might just have a local guy do it and pay for it. The RDL I had on my BMW was way more comfy, but that isn't because the seat isn't of high quality, it's just the way it sits on the ST. I also ran the stock seat on the higher position and the RDL on the lower.
