Rubber on shift lever

Anyone had problems with the rubber on the shift lever cracking down the seam?

No problems with mine, think they cost $5-$10 for a new one.

Mine started to split about a year into riding it. I ordered the replacement. Still sittin in the bag for 8 months?

The original wont fall off.

The end of the rubber is hanging off on my lever :-/ still shifts tho.

Mine split after only six months. I've worn through some over the years, but never had one fail in six months.

I think mine lost one of the "ribs" on the outside pretty early on. I really don't pay too much attention. As long as up brings me a gear higher and down brings me a gear lower it is doing enough for me.

I second this answer. Maybe I'll fix it if I happen to be ordering some OEM parts. Only my eye notices the dangling riblet, my left toe has no idea about it.
