Is it common to be able to bolt these right up without modifications to the hoses or cables? I watched an installation video, and it looked pretty straight forward. A little loosening from clamps was all there was, iirc. I think these will be one of my first farkels.

I could only do 1 inch rise on my gen1 without lengthening cables I think. 2 inch put a lot of stress on them. Now I have a gen 2 I'm keen for new risers so also keen to see your results/answers.

At full lock (gen 1) they get a little tight. I ran mine that way for a while with no problems. When I crancked them back. They got a little to snug for me. I think they would've been ok though.

If you're speaking of Gen2, yes it is possible and the result is fine after 30k+ mi. Used extended lines on a Gen1 with their old-style risers.
Can't remember where it was, but there's a video out there that shows a tip that'll recover a little more play in the cables with no added parts or expense. If you contact the folks at ROX they can probably set you straight. Have used them to great effect with absolutely no rubbing, chafing, pulls, or problems. The extra height and pullback got rid of an ache between my shoulder blades immediately.

Added a set of 2+ to my gen2. Brake hose was stretched a little at full lock left. Will look at relocation instruction for now. Thanks for the tip.

what dmulk said. AltRider has a video on their site about the 'kit' to give more slack for the Rox risers on a Super Ten. You can put it together with a few items from the hardware store for less than they sell, (though they are reasonable about it), or from your garage if you're like me. I followed the instructions on my Gen II and it worked well. No issues in 20k miles or so now. I used lower risers on my Gen I, so no fuss needed.

I'm interested in fitting some of these risers to my bike too. If possible could you list the additional parts needed? If these are available locally for cheap then it would be good info for knowledge base.

Your google fu is weak.

On the page for the 2" Rox risers for the Super Ten, after you selected by bike and the Super Ten, then handlebar ergos, at the bottom of the listing for the risers is a link. HERE It walks you thru the mod and shows you want you need. It's 2 zip ties, a bit of rubber hose like fuel line and a cable clamp.
