This may be a dumb question but here goes: How well does the Ropax gas can fit on the rear rack of a Tenere? The Altrider rack says its compatible with the mounting hardware for the Ropax but the stock rack is different. I'm not planning to change the rear rack but I do think I'll pop for a Ropax. Is there a way to make this work without bunjees etc. I'd like to have the gas can secure. Maybe there's alternatives. I dunno. Educate a newbie. Tenere newbie anyway lol

This is two one gallon rotopax cans. I created a mounting plate that attaches at the two bolts that mount the front of the rear seat. Also used two bolts and nuts to mount the rear in two holes on tail end of rear rack. Front can is on a 90 with spout to the front and right. Rear is long ways to bike. Rear rack has to have the spacer taken out so whole platform is level. You do lose the rear seat but makes a nice place to put a bag.

Cool deal. I'm thinking that I'll likely run a drybag secured by Rok straps on the rack and then my sleeping bag a tent in front of that on the passenger seat. This way, maybe I can run my straps through the Ropax under the drybag. I pick up the bike this week so I'll be able to do some test loading well before summer. I like the way the Ropax mounting hardware works though. I don't want anything falling off the bike for sure. Security is my friend.
