How on Earth does an ECU flash effect handling?

Especially in sport mode, the stock programming is really bad at trailing throttle.

That 'drops off a cliff' throttle chop is the big one. Always messes up your suspension and tire loading on entry and when you pick up the throttle again, you have to correct your line again mid corner.

That's handling for me.
