Well not exactly but I did it. Put the deposit down on a '14 S10ES, should be here in 2 weeks. Couldn't wait 'til November and actually had to trade one of my Triumph Sprint GTs in to do the deal. I went back and forth for about a month between the S10 and the new KTM 1190 Adventure but in the end the Yamaha checked all the right boxes. I think its the better real world bike. In addition you guys on the forum have been so helpful I had to do it. I wanted heated grips and for what they cost vs they come on the ES I just went the full monty with the ES. Can't wait for it to get here, haven't been this excited about a bike in a long time. So Thanks Guys!
Best part is I pulled off getting the S10 and was able to keep the Explorer.

Welcome! Once you get a few miles on the Tenere the explorer will never again see the light of day.

Creggur for real world bike to bike testing we can meet halfway and swap bikes back and forth. My S10 and Explorer are 1400 miles apart.

Congrats, I' m going to to W.V. to get my 14 es next weekend. I'm in Loxahatchee if you want together and do some riding let me know. Coming off a Harley for the last 10 years and haven't been on a dual purpose bike in over 30 years but hopefully with some riding time I'll pick it up again. If you don't mind me asking where did you buy it at.

Bought the Tenere from Mukwonago Yamaha (WI). They are 20 minutes from my house up there. Super nice people. Let me take a '13 demo for a test ride with the following instructions, "be back in 30 minutes or so". Also let me take a '14 for a couple of miles to see the difference. Great to deal with too. Would recommend them to anyone in that part of the world looking for a bike. Almost takes the fun out of it buying a bike so close to home!
