My Leo vince muffler seems to be getting noticeably louder
and I was thinking about replacing packing. It's got about
20,000 miles on it now.Anyone done theirs and have any
tips or advice.

Drill out the Rivets, pull it all out, cut off the old glass, wrap some new fiberglass around it, shove it back in there and rivet it back up.

Just did my 2 brothers exhaust, I used some spare house insulation I had around (It is all Fiberglass mat, same as the "repack kit" from the manufacturer)

Probably took 30 minutes tops, but I don't think it made mine any quieter. The two brothers is just LOUD.

There are some videos of the process on youtube.

We used to use house insulation when I was a kid riding 2 strokes. It never lasted nearly as long as proper exhaust packing.

Using home insulation wool inside your silencer will only last a few thousand miles before blowing out, as it's glass fibre wool rather than woven matting. I'm unsure as to whether it's any different in the US but my nearest performance bike shop can supply Leo Vince / SBK repacking kits, along with the stainless rivets and straps needed to put it all back together. It's not the cheapest way of doing it but it'll ensure that you get another 20,000 trouble free miles out of the silencer. ::001::

Just repacked my Husky drill out rivet's, Repack, Re-rivet. Very easy. I don't think house insulation has near the same density of muffler packing though. Waiting for a Leo Vince sale myself. Until then maybe I'll just throw some clothes pins with a deck of cards thru the spokes.
