Regulator Rectifier Connector Is Burnt Out

Hi folks,
I originally posted a query in the wrong section regarding the ABS Engine Management warning lights coming on and the bike stopping. So I've found the problem after seeing code 46 come up on the screen. After removing the top side panel I can see that I have a completely burnt out connector to the rectifier. I have almost no mechanical knowledge and the other day I booked the bike into a Yamaha dealership on the 2nd May to find the fault which is 40km away. I'm a bit surprised the Yamaha mechanic didn't spot this when he replaced the headlight wiring loom a few weeks ago which had burn marks on the connector.
The question a I have is whether, if I disconnect the lights, I can ride it or not? Otherwise it's a breakdown truck to the workshop. And could it be the lithium battery I fitted a few months ago have caused the problem.

i don,t think it,will make any difference if your lights are on or off , it will not effect anything, that rectifier is what charges the battery and its fried, so i can,t see your battery without being charged getting you 40km down the road, last time i saw a connection to a rectifier that badly burned it was a ducati 748 and it caught fire

Thanks. I have a CTEK charger for the YAUSA battery and a lithium charger so both can be charged full, but like you say, I’m worried about it catching fire

also i would of thought that the wiring loom if its getting that hot and burning it,ll get hotter and spread further down the wiring loom doing more damage to the wiring harness, but yes it could easily catch fire somewhere thats what happened to my mates 748 ducati rectifier wiring harness

This would be one of those times I'd opt to rent a u-haul motorcycle trailer and haul the bike to the shop. The extra hassle it would cause when the bike dies before you get to your destination just isn't worth it. Not to mention the added dimension of a flaming motorcycle.
