I need a second rear wheel assy. Anyone know if there is a part number for an assy or do I need to order parts individually?

My parts manual does not show a complete wheel assembly as being available, which is not unusual. You typically have to piece them together.

You didn't misplace a rear wheel, did you!?!?

No. My second home is 600 miles one way. So each time I ride up there and back with some riding in the mountians thrown in I put 1500 to 2000 miles on for the trip. Changing rear tires out before they are really gone. Going to keep a good tire on one wheel for the long rides and the other to wear out the rear tires locally.

Understand. My 2nd place is 850 miles away so I run into the same kind of issues. A pieced-together rear wheel assembly is around $1000 from bike bandit (no tire).

I think I am going to try K60's, as they seem to wear real good. Just don't know about how well they would do (vib wise) on 800 miles of super-slab....

I have K60's on now. Vibration on hiway is not bad. Front wants to follow every scratch in road and shakes some below 30. I seem to be in the minority on my opinion of the tire. Don't think I am going to use them again. They do last longer. Harder compound=less grip. I will settle for less off road performance to get better street manners.

IF I needed to replace a wheel i would invest in Woody's upgrade. Why not?

I know it's a different topic, but quick question: is there a cast wheels for s10?
Nope. Something could be made to fit, as always, but nothing off-the-shelf.

One of our peeps that still has their FJR should check to see if the FJR wheels will bolt up to the S10. That would be sweet if so. Similar cush drive and sizes, though the rear is wider and clearance may be an issue. Nothing says you can't run a narrow tire on a wider rim though. The FJR rim is 5.5", as opposed to the what, 4" rim of the S10?

Wish I had thought to try this when I had both in the garage.

I think I'd go with "woody's" -- awesome products.
I have been trying to find a good reason to to buy Woody's wheels. Well, other than how well they are built, what they are built with, and how good they look.

Checked with Woody's. Price for OEM hub, rim and spokes is $1000 to $1100.
