The stock turn signals are unfortunately not detachable individually. You have to cut the harness that goes to each turn signal, (as they terminate into a joint connector under the seat. The OEM LED turn signals come with 4 mm bullet connectors and 4 mm bullet connector blanks which I attached to the bike's turn signal harness, and they look OEM as they also come with the vinyl cover for each bullet.

Remove the plastic cover over the ABS. You will find a boot on the right side of the bike that has a bunch of connectors in it. The connectors are located inside that boot. The Euro schematic shows Dark Green, Brown (choclate), and black for the wire colors. I know the stateside model probably has an extra wire for the running lights?

Anyway, I'm pretty sure the location of the connectors is the same. You may end-up having to disconnect them to verify which is which. I have attached a crappy PDF, as my Adobe seems to have a mind of its own lately. Too bad the forum doesn't except XPS files cause that one is clear. Look at index #6

My US bike does not match the fiche above. Both turn signals are connected together in one Sumitomo type connector under the seat. I just installed the Yamaha LED turn signals, so I'm talking from experience.

p.s. I'm talking about the REAR turn signals.

Just like Tenerator12 says: The connectors are buried under a plastic cover over the ABS unit. You can take the seats and rear carrier off and just follow the wires. The US schematic shows quite clearly the left (item reference 89, GRAY connector) and right (item reference 88, BLACK connector) 3-pin connectors. Only two wires are used since we don't have rear running lights.

When I installed my after-market LED signals, I bought the same type connectors and affixed them to the wires from the LEDs so everything just plugged together like OEM.

Hope this helps.

Just as Mike pointed out...
Had to do a bit of disassembly, but the connectors are there beneath the seat, beneath the black plastic cover, inside the black rubber boot...the wires are about 2' long. I sourced some aftermarket Yamaha connectors for the wires on ebay and lengthened the wires to fit.

and some plastic spacers for the stalks from my local bike shop.

Those along with the LED flasher and they work like a charm...

Brick:
The LED's I used were from ebay...they are very bright and look much better than the stockers...although I think I bought the last pair as they appear to be NLA...
