Looking at getting one of these before my shock gets too much crud on it

http://www.traxxion.com/VentedShockSock.aspx

but need to know the spring length. Anyone have their bike handy and can measure the spring for me?

Looked at the Dirtskins too, but they are neoprene and might provide too much insulation - i.e. the shock won't cool as well - so will try the traxxion first. They are cheaper too!

Thanks mate - I'm not sure what you're talking about... congrats though! >:D

The length of the spring is actually just a tad over 8" inches, so I'm thinking the Traxxion sock is going to fit. For $16 it's worth a shot!

Well ya know everyone exaggerates when it comes to length.

Let us know how it works and what size shock cover you ended up with.

Ah no - I should have mentioned that... when you order, in the comment field write "You want $13.40 to ship a 16.95 part.. That's a bit fricking much...." (or something to that effect) and they will ship it via USPS for $6.00. It's a problem with the way the shopping cart does the calcultion...

On the ebay store the shipping was $6.00 for Priority USPS and $16 for sock. I went for it since I am not big on washing my bike or really trying to keep it clean too much I figure the fore and aft socks will help a little ...

Let us know how long it takes. Unless you have really small hands I think you will find it time consuming to install. Well, it took a lot longer than I thought it would.
