I was looking through pictures of my previous ride (as one does!) - FJR1300 - which had the Canyon Cages from Engine Guards.
Canyon Cages also made rear guards which mounted in front of the saddlebags.
Which led me to think:
Is these such a guard available for the S10?

The way Canyon Cages were built, in case of a tip over the bike would fall and come to rest on the Canyon Cages (front and rear) - guarding both the front fairing/engine as well as the saddle bags from damage.

For the S10 - such Guards would need to be more or less universal - work with any pannier and pannier rack set up.

Ahhh yes!
Similar to that one of the biggest factors between Soft and Hard panniers!
I guess the Canyon Cages are ok for street/touring bikes

The picture of the right foot is exactly what happened to me while riding in Titus Canyon, I thought I was going to break my ankle....Then it DID happen to me on the CDT in Colorado when the truck turned into me when I was passing. I'm not riding in dirt with hard boxes anymore
