A friend adjusted his rear brake pedal to fit his new boots better and the Cruise Control doesn't work. We adjusted it to the point so the light wouldn't stay on and I'm thinking it should be not so close and I assume it's messing with the sensor?

For the thread police: I searched the threads and didn't find anything. :)

Ajust again to your needs, no matter how low.

Remove the heel plate (protective cover with 2 screws)

There is a black plastic bolt and nut behind the plate, ajust up or down untill the brake light goes off and you done.

OK, we adjusted the correct thing and the CC is still not working. Is it pretty picky and does something have to be just right in order for the CC to work? The brake lights do not stay on and work as though they should. We left a little gap in the adjustment so it wasn't right on the "boarder" of having the lights stay on or not.

I appreciate any assistance!

Im not sure Tim, I would turn the nut a little bit more, if doesnt work take the bike to a Yamaha Dealer.
Im just someone who went through with the same problem, and mine works just fine now.
Hope it will work.

FWIW, I adjusted my brake pedal lower which brought the switch adjustment to a point where it closes quite a bit sooner and my CC works fine.
