Just filled up yesterday after 262 miles tank took 21.5 litres riding a mix of 65-80 mph. The most range I have ever had was last summer 305 miles on one tank running 70-80 mph for about 250 miles and then down to 45-50 mph for the last 55 miles, the tank took 23 litres to the top with the tank mod ( punch holes in the filler neck ) my bike is 2nd gen model 2015 with me that night was a friend on a 1st gen model 2012 we were both on our way back from Austria loaded with 3 boxes and camping equipment.

If you want to tour in Europe away from main roads, always fill up when you can, especially in the rural centre of France. During their summer holidays, the place seems almost deserted and what is open can be closed for a long lunch. It's also risky in some areas of the Alps, fill up on Saturday if you want to ride Sunday. This isn't to say you can't find fuel, but it can be a pain to have to cut your planned ride short to go looking for it in some tourist hot spot.

On higher speed highways where I cruise at 120-130 kph indicated. I don't like to go much over 250 kms. Especially if winds are involved. As pointed out at higher speeds especially with panniers and a top box it can use up fuel faster than you expect. Also because I live in a bit of a remote area you don't take chances when the next gas station is 200 km away.

I've been riding around Europe since the mid 80s, including at least 20 trips across and around most of France, never once had any issues whatsoever finding fuel stations, on any day of the week. Granted many of the smaller village type fuel stations close on Sunday's, however loads and loads now have automated fuel systems, providing you have credit/debit cards.

Range - I usually get between 180 - 200 miles before fuel count begins (Gen 1 bike), and I know I have a least another 40 miles in the tank. 254 in the most I've done, 21.5 litres to fill back up.
