You join SPX in having bought a GS/GSA and decided to stick around. Glad you are and the extra input is always good. There seem to be two kinds of BMW owners; those who go a lot of miles with no problem, and those who have a series of real issues. I truly hope you and yours are in the former group.
Along with the two main types of BMW owners there are also those who have tiny niggles with their bike who like to report everything like it's the end of the world and also those who've never owned or ridden one that fan those flames, just be some sort of jealousy!

I hear you loud and clear.

I'm conservative with my money too but have worked hard and saved my whole life and it was time for the reward. I got what I consider a good deal and it pushed me to pull the trigger and take what I consider a risk. So far I am VERY happy with my decision. Only time will tell.
Good forr you man, congrats. When it comes to motorcycling, people should ride what they want and what makes them happy - within our own respective budgets of course.

I like all bikes, and, truth be told, someday I may throw down on an R1150GSA if I can find one with low miles that's been well cared for. Mostly because that is the model that originally caught my eye.

Not to say I will get rid of my Super T, though!

Hard to part with the Super T as we all know the thing is stout!

Everyone I ever spoke to who had the 1150 and went to the 1200 all said they wished they kept it. After getting my ES flashed it was much better to ride and more fun. And I trust it 100%

Totaled my 2013 (holdover to get the white) a couple months ago and a buddy who is BMW blessed lent my his 2004 GS 1150 Adventure. Besides the funky servo motor for the brakes.

I put 3000 miles on it from highway to commuting to dirt roads. I enjoyed riding it.

It felt much bigger and heavier than the S10 but not so much that it was a problem.
