It is much quieter than an Arrow/Yoshi...but thicker...the advantage is that when you are cruising...the exhaust is silenced...while an arrow/two brothers/yoshi, they continue to sound...If you can remove dbkiller…try the sound and you will see….It's just that since the hole is bigger, it sounds a little louder.Hmmm. I was wondering how much unwanted attention I would get around town if the rpms got up there with this configuration.
With decat, I think all exhausts without dbkiller become noisy. It looks better than mine (which is with Cat)
Did the mod to my bike. Man, it’s awful loud!!
I’m switching back to stock muffler.
Ps: i also have a decat.
Absolutely. I put on the catless Arrow headers and tried a Delkevic and couldn't take it. Went back to oem can with Arrow headers and got a slightly throatier and mellow sound, and I think a little more oomph w/o the cat. With decat, I think all exhausts without dbkiller become noisy. And probably without the cat, you will have less carbonization on the piston heads.Absolutely. I put on the catless Arrow headers and tried a Delkevic and couldn't take it. You can try making a dbkiller yourself. If you welded the metal curve to the edge of the metal piece, you should weld a piece of pipe inward (same as the oem dbkiller), so the sounds will bounce off the back of the muffler, before coming out, like a resonance box (same as the oem dbkiller )….the metal mesh in the oem dbk is not to muffle the sound, it is to prevent that a piece of burning coal coming out of the exhaust and causing a fire in some forest with dry grassI’m thinking of playing a little with the stock can (dbkiller mainly). Cut the mesh or drill some bigger holes in it.
I’ll get back to you with the results
That's what I did the first time...first remove the mesh, then cut the pipe. It sounded better, but I was looking for something with a thicker sound, but I still have the catBut what if I strip all the mesh and that end plate and leave just the empty pipe inside the can?
Think this should enhance the sound in a good way.
If not ,there’s no turning back
