Few questions regarding engine guard,
How many of you guys are using engine guards?
How many are using full vs half?
Is anybody using Givi engine guards and what do you think about them?

I didn't see any information about Givi engine guards here.

Lotsa people here using all kinds of guards - engine and crash. Not to beat a dead horse, but there are tons and tons of threads on crash guards here at the forum. Have you used the search feature yet?

Opinions on crash guards are dime a dozen and run the gamut of everything out there. There are only three engine guards (skid plates) that do not bolt to the motor itself - ACD, Rumbux, and Ride-On-Adv. Crash guards... oh my, there are almost too many to choose from.

Not trying to be a smart-ass but a forum search should give you several days worth of very opinionated reading.

Don't have the Givi's, have the Alt Rider. I take mine in the dirt, and although the stock protection kinda works (not in the dirt), the full bars really protects the bike. The 3-4 times mine has been down, it has taken nothing more than a spurt of black spray paint to fix.

Other then that, what "trikepilot" said.

I've got the Givi's. I ride mostly paved roads with a little dirt and gravel on occasion. I've never had the S10 down so I don't have an opinion on how tough the Givi's are. They seem solid enough for conditions I'm going to use them in. They went on easy and the right side panel will come off with no problem. If I was going to be riding in conditions with a high probability that I was going to put the bike over on it's side on occasions, I would opt for something a little more heavy duty. Hope that helps a little.

Big Altrider fan here. I have the skid plate and crash bars. They look and work great. You can buy them direct from Altrider or you can get them at Revzilla and earn some Revzilla cash for future orders.
