From the leading edge of the front tire to the tip of the rear rack I measured 92". Its about an inch less to the rear of the rear fender. Hope that helps.

Sorry, to the rear contact patch on the rear tire is 75" to the center of the axle, about 78" to the rear most point of tire contact patch.

It was not always like this in my younger days with my Hayabusa and my other crazy speed machines.
Which may help explain the back! Welcome to the old folks with a Ténéré club!

I've bought cars and motorcycles all over the country, and ship stuff all the time. I used Federal to ship my Tenere from AZ to NJ for the first time in May. I flew out to Phoenix to do the deal, rode the bike to a local terminal to drop it off, and 5 days later it arrived in a terminal in NJ, shrink wrapped on a pallet. $550 and 5 days, Phoenix, AZ to Monroe, NJ. Of all the services I've used over the years, this was hands down the best, and being able to drop off/pick up at a terminal is tits. I know someone posted here that their Harley fender was smashed, well sh!it happens with any shipper, the real question is: How was the damage claim handled? I'm genuinely curious as they threw in $7k of damage insurance for mine.

Where in Wisconsin is the bike? I could do a ride and fly for you if you cover the gas, hotel, and drop me off at the airport.
Seriously cool offer.

I wonder if I could make an LLC business opportunity of such an idea? Hmmmm...

The only reason I can make that offer is I have a bunch of frequent flyer miles from a previous job.

I just flew out to Oregon and rode my new S-10 to Chelsea, AL. The bike had 1351 miles when I started. The trip was 2920 miles and the only thing I'd change is the seat. Surely someone on this board can help out with a pick up from the airport and a ride to the dealership? Gas and lunch?

The idea of 3/4" plywood was really good, as long as it's cut to the width of the wheel wells so it can't slide sideways. I think it was Snakebitten who did that and mounted the front wheel chock to the plywood. The tail gate cables aren't meant to take the nearly 300 lbs of bike, PLUS the pounding of hitting bumps.

If driving at night, that much weight that far back will raise the level of the headlights of your Avalanche.

I got those DG tailgate supports today in my possession. So tha'ts not an issue.
The problem is that the origional paperwork is delayed by USPS priority mail now by 2 days past the delivery date it was supposed to be there.
We wanted to park in Lundington and take the ferry over to Manotowoc and get the bike and ride it back on the ferry and put it on the truck.
But without the paperwork I cannot title/reg and plate it.
So I would have only a bill of sale and insurance binder but no plate.
Can I ride it like that?

I believe that you can in some States, but not most. In my State, riding without a registration and plate would end very badly, even if just riding a brand-new vehicle home.

The selling dealer should be able to put a temporary WI tag on it. Not a motor vehicle, but when I picked up my 5th wheel trailer in Texas, he slapped a TX temp tag on it. And they didnt do the registration, I registered it when I got it home.

Update - the dealer got the paperwork today and is has sent Title bill of sale ect to me next day USPS. It is supposed to arrive here in the AM.
So if it does I can go to the registry and get the plate and register it all by tomorrow afternoon. If all goes well.........
Whew, that's close. We leave Saturday morning.
Niagra falls first stop. Ludington Michigan second stop then ferry to Manotowoc Wi. to pick the bike up , ride back bike on ferry, then cruise around on bike, then home.
Or, no ferry and straight drive under lake Michigan and up to Manotowoc Wi then home. If I chose the second option I will have to drive thru Chicago and Milwaukee. But I will save @300.00 on ferry trip. It will B quicker. Hmmmm
Places I am told are rough neighborhoods with construction and lots of traffic.

I just finished the bed ramp for my bike from the raw state in the picture.
This will distribute the weight over about 18" of the tailgate.
I am bolting it to the Harbor Freight motorcycle chock.
This should be fine.
I have tried everything to rotate this picture any one know how?

Had a great experience with Haulbikes. Shipped from Iowa to UT. Everything was great with excellent communication keeping me informed the whole time. Would definitely use them again.

I just got back today. Really beat from all the driving. I went and picked the bike up by way of going thru Chicago. I made sure I went thru the rough city's late at night.
Everything worked out fine. I love this bike. I just put a aluminum rack and tailbag on it and drove it for an hour. Fantastic.
Now to customize!
