I don't claim this as my idea as I have seen it done elsewhere. Nonetheless I thought you would like to see it on the 'best' colour S10 :D

The box is a Peli 1120, it has been bolted directly onto the number plate mount, and the number plate then bolted to its lid. I have taken the puncture repair kit from under the saddle where it was a very tight fit with the seat levelling mod that I have carried out, and it fits in the Peli a treat. I will purchase a small combo padlock later.

My tool kit and visor cleaning kit are now safely under the seat in the tray.

It all looks fairly strong, but I'm not sure it would stand up to heavy off-roading without some bracing. Most of my travelling is on the road, so I'm happy with the way it sits.

Looks good. Is the license plate still lighted at night? Some cops might give you a ticket.

Yep...nice idea but wouldn't pass inspection here....Cops love to pull you over for plate light out....gives them a reason to pull you over and check for DUI..

Now if you could rig up some small led light to illuminate the plate.. ::008::

They have 'em, LED's that double as tag bolts.

LED plate bolts

There are many other sources too.

Not bad but then you would have to run wiring into the box and ultimately the lid.....Lights mounted to the box that hung over the lid would probably work better. that would keep the wiring on the outside eliminating more holes in the pelican case.

If you polish some aluminum and make a small "periscope", it should reflect enough of the light onto the plate. ;)

Love the idea. :) Well done!

Bit of bracing under the plastic and that'd stand up to most moderate offroading. :)

I don't know if you were serious about that but I'd love to see it ::012::
