I lived in Fairbanks for many years and loved it. Never ate a sled dog tho.
The Yukon Quest Dog Sled Race is more than half over. Like the Iditarod it is a 1000 mile race only over rougher terrain (between Fairbanks and Whitehorse) and in colder weather. I rode the course on a snogo as a trail groomer one year.
