Arrived yesterday. Installed last night. Aside from the left side bash plate not wanting to line up the rest of the install went well solo. The packing was insane. Whoever wrapped it in foam tape was determined that I was going to be the first person to beat the hell out of it.

The Rumbux guys in South Africa take the wrapping and crating seriously!

I think they get kickbacks from the foam wrapping conglomerate.

::012:: ::012:: Glad to hear people are happy with the product and the service. It has and continues to be a learning curve for me, but I hope to continue to improve. I really need to work on a web site next, but July will be busy with other things and I'll be back at shipping Rumbux orders in August. I will be placing an order at the end of June, so if you're wanting Rumbux crash bars or pannier brackets, etc. Please consider giving me a call and placing your pre-order between now and June 21st. That order will get delivered to customers in early August.

And I do still have some 3-Part kits that are heading this way next week from South Africa, but availability is limited.

Hello, new ST owner here. It's been a week since your last post, are there any 3 part kits available for immediate purchase?

Yes, I picked up an order today, so I have some 3-part kits in stock and ready to ship, (probably go out on Monday).

Give me a call and we can sort your CC and shipping info. Feel free to call until 9 pm MDT.

This is the new warning page that will go out with every 2-part and 3-part Rumbux kit I sell. I'll be editing this into the first post as well. It's intended to make riders aware of the dangers, not scare them off the product. But I'm sure I'll lose a few customers because of it. At some point, every bike will drag hard parts, but I want people to understand the potential risks. Most Super Ten riders probably will never scrape pegs, but there certainly is a contingent that does. ::008::

*****!Warning!*****!Warning!*****!Warning!*****

Adding aftermarket accessories to your motorcycle can alter the ground clearance. You may need to adjust your riding style to avoid contact with the ground during aggressive cornering or on uneven ground.

*****!Warning!*****!Warning!*****!Warning!*****

When properly installed, this Rumbux Crash Bar will cause your Super Tenere to be wider and lower than prior to it's installation. Because of this, it is possible to contact the ground just after the left side footpeg feeler will scrape during high lean angle turns and before the center stand contacts on the right side. This can result in levering the rear wheel off the ground, and directly or indirectly cause a crash resulting in motorcycle damage, injury or death!

*****!Warning!*****!Warning!*****!Warning!*****

By installing this product you are accepting responsibility for your own actions!

EVal Innovations can not control how you ride. Please use caution until you understand if and how the installation of your new Rumbux crash bar system impacts your riding style.

EVal Innovations Inc. is not liable for injuries or damages resulting from crashes where the crash bars may have contacted the ground during riding. By installing Rumbux Adventure Products on your motorcycle, you implicitly accept these terms, and responsibility for your actions of choosing to install this product and choosing to ride in a manner which could cause motorcycle damage, injury or death.

*****!Warning!*****!Warning!*****!Warning!*****

Motorcycling is an inherently dangerous activity. Please ride aware, ride safe and ride often.

Thank you for your purchase!

The actual page has the "warning!" in red, but yellow shows up better here.

Installed mine today, very easy to install and am very happy with the product. As earlier mentioned the amount of protective wrapping is impressive. ::012::

Glad to hear the installs went smoothly!

I am still taking pre-orders for a late June order that will deliver in early July. I do still have one 3-Part kit in stock and ready to ship as well. :-\

FYI - I also now have reflective XTV stickers in stock @ $4.50 each. This item shares profits with the Forum. ::008::

This system has been great so far. It has surely saved me from a few potential headaches already. I just wanted to echo what Eric has already posted as a warning. The feeler on the left peg will touch down only slightly before the plate frame. I also wanted everyone to be aware that the right side peg has no feeler, and the plate frame will be the first thing to touch.

Knowing this now, I still think this is the best protection available, especially for the price. First rate piece of kit.

Thanks for the feedback Dan. It means a bit more from someone that's a customer, rather than the vendor. Nice pic too! Looks like you're mid oil change there.

For what ever reason, the right side peg isn't even drilled and tapped for a feeler. It's just got a dimple. If I could have just ordered up some feelers and sent them along, I would do that. But it's more of a peg exchange deal and I don't see riders wanting to go w/o the footpeg for any length of time!

The 'bolt' is cheap. p/n 90109-08177-00 BOLT $3.83. Drilling and tapping the foot peg is not difficult if you have the correct tools. I may order up one and do the right side peg, just as a precaution. I rarely scrape hard parts on this bike. Last time was when it was lowered for the wife and before the spring upgrade. Of course, it's just as easy to drill and tap it for a generic bolt than buy the Yamaha part, and cheaper still. Hmm. I do have some 8mm taps in the garage...

Does the stock right side peg have a boss for a feeler?

Sallydog,

OUCH! Glad to see you are in good spirits. Don't eat too much cheese. Any more time than necessary on the toilet looks VERY uncomfortable!

Where's the "This thread would be BETTER with ONE LESS PIC!" smiley guy?

Yes, it has a raised boss with a dimple in the center, much like a drill point. Probably done in the casting for ease of manufacturing. I suspect it is used on other bikes and drilled/tapped for a feeler bolt. XT660 perhaps?

@Sallydog - Ouch! Glad you're mostly ok as is the bike.

What happened? Maybe I missed a thread somewhere? What gear were you wearing at the time?
