Thanks for the e-mail, Eric. Just got your update email a minute ago. Perfect timing for me whether or not they come in a week or two early or not...

I had (1) OE add on Rumbux bar available, it has been sold.

The orange part in the first pic is what you get. It adds much better side protection, especially for the side mounted radiator, and greater rigidity with the additional mounting point at each side. This replaces the Yamaha upper hoop. This is last year's price since it came on the order before the price increase. Future orders for this will be at the $xxx price listed in the 2013 pricing.

@pmcwil619 - PM responded to, you're in like flynn.

@Raz2u - Thank you for your order, and looking good for early April. Rumbux is some excellent protection. I really enjoy the ability to think I can ride stuff that I can't always make it thru, and yet still pick up the bike and ride out and home. ::013:: ::013:: Lost a hiway peg last week, but didn't worry about the important stuff, thanks to the Rumbux!

pmc has decided to wait, so I still have one full set of Rumbux Crash bars coming in early April that is unspoken for. These will go to the first person to call and pay for them. Again, this is part of the Feb. order that has already been placed with Rumbux and delivery to customers is expected in early April. As there is demand, I will continue to build and place orders as demand hits 5 units.

::012:: Yes, it is yours. Thank you for your order and the incoming order placed in Feb is now fully sold. I am taking pre-orders for the next one, which will probably be a May delivery.

Finally mounted up my Rumbux guards today. It should have been an hour or two at most, but it took longer since it was discovered that the Rumbux does not fit unless you have a short oil filter on the bike. My bike's previous owner had the Purolator PL14612 on the bike. This filter has been erroneously listed at 2.5" here at the forum, but it is well over 3" in real life. Once I drove around town to get a smaller filter and oil, I got the oil quickly changed and a new Mobil 1 M1-108 filter on there. Then the Rumbux guards went on without issue. I did them by myself without help which I was unsure of since the directions suggest getting someone to help hold the uppers while you line up the holes and thread the bolts

I write this quick review as a heads up to any of you on the next Rumbux order. You now have several weeks to verify that your oil filter is the smaller version will clear the guards or you have time to remedy the situation.

My overall Rumbux experience was flawless. Eric was great. He kept me constantly updated. The bars arrived ahead of schedule. They are built bomber with obvious attention to quality. They bolted on easy and look to be just what I need to encourage me to take the S10 way off road here in WV.

Thanks for posting the pics guys! And I'm glad you didn't have any issues with the Rumbux, aside from the oil filter issue. I'm going to see about verifying those Purolator filter sizes and will post here and in the thread that lists the sizes.

I saw you did yours by yourself congrats!! My wife lent me a helping hand to hold steady while I started bolts took me right at an hour. Then had to test ride to see if I incurred any resonance or vibrations rechecked again today after a ride I think mine will be here til it falls apart. I didn't have the oil filter issue since I only replaced the top loop of the OEM parts.. Are those K60's you are running? How do you like them? you can email me direct to not dirty up this forum section jdunn@epbfi.com

Looks good!!!

I will admit I haven't read all the pages but I would like to know if anyone has a full set of these in Australia and what it would cost to get a set out here. I have to say they look to be the best out there so yer I guess the question is how much Approx and how long to get a set from time of order
Cheers Grant

Welcome to the forum and this thread Toyrotor. I am the US distributor for Rumbux and while I have checked into various ways to ship to other countries, the size of the box makes it cost prohibitive. The last time I checked on Australia it was over $800 in shipping alone for me to ship a full set of Rumbux crash bars. I get requests from all over since Rumbux is primarily sold in South Africa and I'm the only other dealer on their web site right now.

The easiest way to ship these is Airport to Airport. But it really doesn't cost out unless you have an order of at least 5 bars by which to divide the cost of the shipping. So you need to either be that guy, or find a shop in Australia that is willing to import some, pay the duties and deal with the customs paperwork, etc. I ended up importing Rumbux products to the US because it was the only way to get some for my Super Tenere. It was a learning process!

Speaking of processes, I am currently taking pre-orders for the next batch. I have two people on board, (one which I need to call tomorrow), and the sooner I get to 5, the sooner the order is placed with Rumbux and the sooner the bars show up on people's doorsteps. I am hoping to get the next order in so that there will be an early May delivery to customers. The in process order should be getting to customers in April. I hope to be able to send out another progress report soon.

...Torque spec info:

The 8mm oem drop guard bolts are 8.7 ft/lbs.

The 10mm rear side stand bolt is 46 ft/lbs. (rear throttle side mount)

The 8mm rear exhaust bracket bolt is 14 ft/lbs, (rear clutch side mount).

The center long bolt that holds the dash on, where the flat bar goes
is 11 ft/lbs

The two bolts between the upper and lower Rumbux are nylocks, so just
get them tight, no need to go overboard there. Same for the small 6mm
bolts and nuts on the front end of the flat bar...

Eric,

I've been wanting to ask you a coupla' things, for awhile, but just hadn't gotten around to doin' it (even during our phone conversations).

1. I want to give all my mounting bolts the "once-over", again. And, I just wanted to make sure that all the specs are definitely "ft/lbs". I'm so used to working in N/m, when it comes to metric bolts, that old habits die hard (and, therefore, just wanted to confirm).

2. My second inquiry (and I may have already asked you this, but forgot the answer) is, have you compared the two lower crossmembers (that the plate attaches to) on the new bars (that come with the 4.5 plate)? Are they the same size?...or are the new crossmembers beefier?

Thanks in advance...

Hi JJ - If you used loctite on the bolts when installing them the first time, I would suggest you not go over them again, as you may end up just breaking loose that bond. The specs are in ft/lbs. The FSM gives ft/lbs, Nm and sometimes additional values. For simplicity sake, I choose to offer the ft/lbs reference.

I did not measure the cross members on the last batch. Perhaps we can get someone from this last batch to give us a measurement of the thickness of the crossmembers on their bars? I suspect they are the same though.

Thanks for your reply Eric
I guess I need to work out what I'm going to do. I have only just got the bike in the last few weeks and starting to set it up. I recently lost my job so things are on hold a little but I am in the planning and pricing stage.
Thanks again for your reply it gives me something to work with
Cheers Grant
