2015 ES 13.2k OTD? That's a killer deal if what my contact at a dealer here in the Houston area told me is true and that invoice price on the 2015 is 13.5k. Does this dealer who's quoting 13.2k have more than one? If I were making the choice based on the info you have I would do the ES and farkles myself. Might be more expensive that way, but putting farkles on is part of the fun in owing one of these machines!
Can I answer these questions tomorrow? I don't want to get the bike swooped out from under me (nobody here would do that, right? RIGHT?). I haven't committed to it yet officially because I'm not stupid enough to buy a new bike when my wife is in surgical recovery. That would NOT entail marital harmony. ::018::

Go for the '15 ES and get the YES from D & H for $389. Then farkle it the way YOU want, not the way someone else did.

Even though I have a non-ES, I think ColoRider's answer is the best one for you.

Sorry to hear about the wife and stress. So the bike doesn't disappear, you might call the dealer, tell them you are tied up with the wife at this point, and offer them $100 on VISA to hold the bike till next week. The worst they can do is say no.

Greetings gents--

So, I test rode the S-10. And then, because I'm an idiot, I test rode the R1200GS.

You see where this is going....

I liked the S-10. But I *really* liked the R1200GS. It just fit me and my riding style better.

And, I found a great deal on a very, very, very slightly used 2015-- as in ten months old, 25% off with only 900 miles on it. Which put things like this:

2015 S-10 ES: $13,200 OTD.
2015 R1200GS: $15,500 OTD.

I couldn't pass it up. So now, instead of going to OK to pick up an S-10, I'm going to AZ to pick up an R1200GS.

I just wanted to say "thank you" to all who've helped me in my decision making process. The S-10 is a fine, fine bike-- but the BMW just was "right" for me. And trust me-- I entered into the test ride absolutely NOT wanting to like it!

Again, thanks!

R.

PS: I found three brand, spanking new S-10 ES's still in the crate. I'll post a new thread with the information if anyone's interested.

Congratulations, hope you have many trouble free miles with it. The GS is a great bike as well.
