I described what I did to my stock seat in the intro and I'll repeat it here. I just returned from a 1 hr each way sojourn and have no complaints with this setup. My ass is 185# and 6'1" so of course your experience may be different. Coming from the bicycle world, they use a seat with the middle cut out to relieve pressure on the perineum so your ass, legs, and junk don't go numb from lack of circulation. I removed the seat, removed the cover, and cut a V notch length wise down the middle of the seat, this allows for sitting anywhere front to back. I also rounded the corners where the legs go down at a stop. The V notch also allows the foam to move around a bit and helps to soften it up. Using a long sharp cutting tool you want to be smooth if you do the edges, the cover material is thin and will show your talents. After done restaple the cover, this takes a really good power stapler, like a Makita is what I use. Elsewhere it is described how to adjust the seat so the front is higher and lower the rear and makes it more level so you don't slide forward. After all this I really see no need to change seats.

I put a Sargent on when I first got my Tenere, and I thought it was possibly a little bit worse than the stock seat. I had Rich's redo my stock seat, and that is working well enough for now.

I have a Touratech seat, it’s not perfect, (for me at least), but it is pretty darn good and 10 times better for me than the stock seat.

Been breaking in the new Tenere I brought home yesterday. Awesome machine. Runs and holds the road like a Kenworth and the motor sounds like an angry took box rolling down a flight of metal stairs. The engineering and design is impressive. Kept it under 70 on a 150 mile ride today and got 55 miles to the gallon. Did not expect that. But, whoever designed and developed the stock seat needs to be dragged out into the street and shot. Good grief. I'm a Corbin guy. Got over 200,000 miles on 'em over the years and they work for me. They're $500.00 but it's gotta be done because the stock seat is a disaster.

Absolutely agree on the stock seat. Its like they tried to make it as uncomfortable as possible.

Bought a Corbin years ago, it worked pretty good but on rough roads it was a little too firm, but after a short break it would be comfortable again for me.
Then I bought a Russel Day Long, very comfortable but a little to tall for me, was going to sell it to Tenere Guy but he claimed to have a Corbin that wasn’t slippery he wanted me to try, well I tried it and he was right it’s not slippery so we traded, I’m really liking my new Corbin and if someone wants to buy the old Corbin it’s for sale, I also have a barely used stock Tenere seat for sale.

Steve Unfortunately I was unable to get the Corbin seat pictures to post in a PM so now I will try posting them here.
Other than being to slippery there is nothing wrong with the seat, at first I thought maybe the original owner had applied something like Armoral to it so I tried washing that off a bunch of times but that didn’t change anything. The newer Corbin I got from Tenere Guy is made from a rougher looking material and isn’t slippery at all.
