Thread for posting your Trail rides, locations, start points, distance, conditions, etc.

One recent one : WJ Janes Memorial Scenic Byway, Fakahatchee Strand Preserve State Park. From East Tamiami Trail (41), go north on 9 then turn left onto Janes.
Takes you NW up into Picayune Strand State Forest up towards Aligator Alley (75). Unpaved two track, wooded, water on sides, open. Lot of water crossings due to the recent rains, especially along the old railroad grade.

Thanks for posting that trail and the pics. I’m planning on getting down to the Glades sometime in late December or early January. Perhaps we can hook up and you can show me this trail.

Sounds like a plan. I think we will start to see more ST's as time goes on. A lot of Dealers from the Keys to WPB and beyond have them on the floor. Let me know when you are down this way and I will try and meet up. My Buddy has a GSA so he has been exploring a few trails down here. I will post them as he shows them to me. There is an old Rocket testing facility, maybe down Homestead way. Been there since the 60's I think. If I can find it on Google I will post in here. I am on ADV Rider as well as this Forum. I only post when I think I have something useful to offer. Picked up lots of useful info which helped me decide on the ST over a GS.;D

Thanks for the pictures. I lived in Hollywood in the late 70s for a winter and had a XS650 twin to ride around on. I made it to Key West but wished I would have seen more.

I’ve got this mapped out for a trip down there kicking off this morning. It appears from googlemaps that I access Janes Byway to the west of FL-29, just a little under 4 miles north of Tamiami.

Sorry I didn’t plan this out too much and organize something, but last week was hectic and now I have ants in my pants to go someplace. So I’m heading out in at daybreak for a three-day, 750+ mile boondoggle down to So. Florida…circling Okeechobee on the east, all the way down to Flamingo in the Everglades and I’ll catch the Fakahatchee Preserve on the way back.

The Tenere is staying home anyway. I’m doing the “minimalist” thing on my KL250. It gotsta be done. ::26::

Geez, it's already in the low 70s and muggy out there this morning.
