I hose it with high pressure, shy away from bearings and electrics... soap manually and hose down using rain water. Use a towel to dry, using compressed air pushes any water further where it needn't to go...

has anyone correlated the use of a high-pressure wash to the hard starts? perhaps water is being forced into a crevice that it wouldn't otherwise. or perhaps the high pressure wash is compromising the kickstand switch. seems some of our wet-weather riders would have experienced this by now.
I've done maybe 800 miles in the rain now, half of that being very heavy, no hard starting issues. And I've washed the bike 3 times in 3000 miles (that's a lot for me!). No blow dryer used...

I'm pushing 2k in miles, washed it a number of times, without problems.

I use cleaner for the bugs and mud, a spray wash, then wipe it down with towels and chamois. I also put a large leaf bag over the seat to keep water from getting on the sheepskin or under the seat...wonder if that doesn't make a difference?
