Has anyone peeled off the metal shrouds on the plug sticks.
I assume they are there as an interference guard. I would have thought being deep in the cam cover that would have been an adequate shield.
I'd like to take mine off to reduce the risk of the high tension shorting to earth.
Opinions?

there's zero likely hood the HT leads will ground to earth. Rubber doesn't conduct ::013::
I've done valves on a ST where the metal part rusted, and the metal spilt, almost trapping the HT in the head. I eventually wiggled it out with much lubing, and had to replace it with a new HT lead. They are there for a reason. I'd leave it.

I guess the excellent reliability of the Super Tenere, has folks dreaming up imaginary potential problems to fix! ;)
