Will do. Although I think a week away is a bit optimistic. I'm thinking two weeks is more realistic. The bike has to depart Vancouver, arrive Edmonton, depart Edmonton, arrive Whitehorse. Probably around 3,000 miles or so. Just guessing. Too bad it can't go straight from Vancouver to Whitehorse. About the same distance as from Whitehorse to Edmonton. But it all takes time. If I have it for the last weekend in July I'll be plum tickled.

I'm having trouble getting Altrider crash bars. My dealer is telling me that the Canadian distributor says they don't have any yet. Bummer. My birthday is coming up in three weeks. Keep me in mind. R

Yes, they are. I ordered them like two months ago. He just confirmed today that they still didn't have them. I'm considering SW Motech stuff, but I was in the TT website tonight and it wasn't being very nice to me. I emailed TT and asked for help. They list some Canadian distributors but every time I try one of those Canadian distributors, they never have the product. I just need a shipping quote from TT in the U. S. and I may order from them. I just thought the Altriders looked a little stouter, but I've had SW MO's on my KLR and they were fine. Anyway, maybe I'll hear from TT tomorrow. I'd like to put those on right away. Knowing me, I'll drop the sucker in the Yamaha parking lot. Hard to be cool ....... R

Probably BARF magazine would be more appropriate. But thanks for the thought. Just send the money and I'll get it myself. R

When I ordered my alt rider bars they were backordered... I don't think they stock many and might be getting them made as they are ordered until the demand increases... probably once the bike gets here.

You're probably right. With my luck, I'll drop it within the first 2 hours, so I want something on there asap.

I have a line on some SW Motechs. If we can't confirm the Altriders today, I'm gonna order them. SW makes good stuff. I'm not a rowdy rider. I'll drop the bike while practicing slow turns in the parking lot. Like I did my Honda last week. R

Reminds me of back in '78 when I bought my first Wing. The dealer suggested I opt for the engine guards "just in case". The day I took delivery I had to make an off-angle stop and was not able to hold up the Wing as my leg stretched for the ground and it was about 4" lower than I THOUGHT it was. Over I went and those nice engine guards paid for themselves!!!

:(

Just ordered my crashbars and skid plate from AltRider yesterday (Monday) and they're in transit; supposed to be delivered here to Nevada on Thursday. I ordered in Black so no problem with being in stock.

However, went to my Yamaha dealer yesterday to order the heated grips and panniers and was told that they have none in stock and no future date for backorders. My dealer is checking with the Yamaha rep today to see when they might be in stock. Anybody able to order the Yamaha luggage with any luck?

Feel like a kid at Christmas- except I have to pay for all the presents!!

My dealer checked with Yamaha two weeks ago and got the same story "on hold for quality assurance". Sounds like typical oem bull to me. If you advertise it, make it available!! I am all but going to can the idea of OEM panniers and just opt out for the Givi Trekkers.

I know the wind deflector kit is showing a November delivery through my dealer, which is still okay for me. For panniers, I went with the Trekkers and am VERY pleased with them.

Good Luck!!

Hope this is it, and not November..
I wanted to get a pair of those but dam they are expensive for a couple pieces of bent up plastic. I thought they were cheeper when they first showed them.
