Details are still to be firmed up...but it looks like I will be attempting my first SS1000 next week. I'll be departing Phoenix on Wednesday, September 19th, and I will need a witness to sign off on my departure. My starting location most likely will be the Chevron station on Carefree Highway at the 17. This is a one way attempt, Phoenix to Denver, as I need to be in Denver next weekend for a work related function. The plan is to swing west through Las Vegas, so I will have 4 states on this run. I'll also need an end witness in Denver (will be somewhere near downtown).

For my return trip (leaving the 24th), I will swing south through Montrose, Ouray, (want to hit the million dollar highway, but am open to suggestions!) and will probably spend the night in the Cortez area before making the push for home.

The S10 is an awesome mile munching machine. Read the 25 tips on the IBA website, be safe, and have fun!!

Best wishes for a successful trip!

Be safe. Reasonable ride for a die hard. I'm in Kingman, about 100 miles south of Vegas; intersection of 40 and 93. The views are amazing on this trip so please try to enjoy them; there is more than fighting for miles. I just finished my first trip through Denver in July coming home from Buffalo NY and it was amazing.

Quick update, my departure location wil be the Shell station at Cave Creek and 101 (closer to home, so I get credit for the miles).

Don't be afraid to take some time off the bike to rest, a ss1000 is only about 16hrs on the freeway. You will easily have 7 hrs extra, enough to get a room and sleep if you need it. Ride safe and have fun.
