Since Rem is always posting up such awesome pictures of the mountains near his home, I figured I'd reciprocate a bit. Today I snapped these beauties:

That would be the Excelon Nuclear Generating Station. It's a few miles from my house. My 3 year old daughter still refers to those bad boys as "volcanoes."

There ya go Rem, ball is in your court. :D

Also, as I was snapping these I thought of Spklbuk's story about how he took a photograph of the naval base and they hunted him down. I was half expecting the police to show up and frisk me.

Yup, that's the Limerick plant. Oh, and it's spelled Exelon, but everyone misspells it. That's the newest of the Exelon fleet of Nuclear facilities, built in the 70's. My employer too.

After 911, security was extremely beefed up. If you don't have official business there, stay clear. Fully armored guards with rifles.

Howdy, boys. Just got back from an awesome Alaska ride last night. Tard ol' boy.
But it was a mighty fine trip. I tried posting some pics but my Internet server has been fubar today. Really bad. I'll try again. R

They should have gotten Spklbuk for that one. It isn't supposed to be photographed. ( this isn't a joke, I know what that site is)

When they come for you at 3AM with sunglasses and dark SUVs, don't say you weren't warned. Free Caribbean stay at lovely Windward side, Gitmo. Free room and board, lots of sun and banana rats. You'll love it!

Nice pictures, brings back memories of my trip to Alaska in 2004.
Heres a link to a page with some pics from Valdez along with one of the local girls on my V-strom.

the highway from Glennallen to Valdez is pretty incredible. Thompson pass is a mind blower, beyond beautiful. Really all the way from Tok it is just amazing scenery. put in a picture from a trip through that area a couple of years ago.

It isn't really that fun of a place. But the banana rats are interesting.
Kickstand resting on edge of public paved road. Sign in plain view outside of perimeter fence. Officer on the ground sent us on our way with the pics intact...pretty sure I'm safe. Though banana rat stew might be interesting.
