PC8 and dielectric grease

My PC8 arrives tomorrow. In preparation for the install this weekend, I wanted to get some opinions on the procedure. I am a bit leery of how the box has all those openings on the sides for bare-metal wiring. I know it's behind the side panel, but that does nothing to prevent atmospheric moisture and humidity from affecting it. Would it be prudent to apply dielectric grease on the outsides of the contacts (both the main power and the outer sides at least of the various circuit connections)? I know you're not supposed to use the grease directly on the contact points, but given that this is supposed to be an all-conditions bike I want to be sure I can use it as intended.

I've had the same PC8 on two different bikes for a total of nine years and about 100,000 miles. The bikes were ridden year round in all kinds of weather, and I live in an area that sometimes feels as humid as Southeast Asia. I never took any anti-corrosion measures with the contact points, and I've never had any issues with corrosion on any of the components of the PC8, or any failure to function properly. On both bikes, the PC8 was under the seat.

Both photos show the same PC8 unit. The top one in my S10, the bottom one is my old V-Strom.

I'm not saying you shouldn't do it, only that my personal experience is that it hasn't been necessary.
