I'm looking for some panniers. I like Happy Trails "Teton" models (nice pannier at a nice price) but don't like the mounting where to get the panniers off, you need to reach inside the panniers and unscrew the mount/knob.

Who makes a super EZ on/off system for mounting panniers?

Or isn't it that big a deal?

It's really not that big of a deal. I reach inside and have the screw out in 10 sec's and off the bike. If it was easier, people may steal cases more.
This way, they at least have to break open the door. And for some thieves that's a 2 second job.. ::025::

::026:: It is really quite simple. I've heard of other systems that rattle, my experience with HT is they are rock solid.

My SW-Motech racks have 4 quarter turn fasteners each. The racks are bolted to each of my boxes.
On and off fast if you know that is the way they are mounted. Nobody sees the quarter turn fasteners hidden there, os not worried about theft.

I agree. Aside from the price point, I like "simple". While my Tetons don't have the flash of a high zoot Zega (which uses a similar knob setup) or H-B set, they're just basic, tough, well built and very user friendly. I did spring for the lid racks and the (faster) black powder coating though.

I too was thinking I wouldn't like the inside knob set up. That turned into a non issue for me. I had some liner bags that fit so all I have to do is pull 'em out and there is instant access. I have no regrets with 'em... ::008::
