I am leaning towards the ST ride for now, it would cost me less and I'm somewhat broke at the moment for a while. Last April, my daughter and I spent 4 days riding in the Mill Creek-White Rock area. of Arkansas. the water falls in these pictures are probably doable to get to for a part of a ride out of Marble Falls, on the St's.

It sure seems that you come down here a lot terry. Hope you enjoy your trip what ever it may be and we can run into you sometime. Maybe for pie at Oark or something like that.

Yeah, IIIRC you and a bud skirted the Durango construction and beat us back to the house by an hour or so. I think we may have met up again at Eureka Springs for one of the SWO FJR meetings. Let me know what day you come up! ::026::

My son from Biloxi, MS is my regular riding partner, so I have to work around his vacation schedule. Therefore, we will be doing our 2nd annual Ozark tour next week, Oct 20-27. We'll be riding AR and southern MO. I bought a new Butler Motorcycle map of the Ozark region, so we hope to ride some new roads. Sorry that we are a bit early to join you all on your ride.

Interesting...

I was just out there in June for a Buell rally in Rogers. Great roads out there, and I'm sure the scenery will be great.
I will have to play this by ear for now.

This ride still going down? If so...
Are we looking at mostly off road stuff?
Hey Carbide We are still on. Y ou don't have to worry about bringing up the EXC. Karson is going to be two up with his wife and so we will be doing mostly pavement with some big bike friendly gravel roads. Head over to Oark and grab some lunch and Pie. The usual NWA BS. They have camping at the Hub as well as rooms. Look forward to seeing you.

Was anxiously awaiting confirmation this is still on! Looking forward to some good riding and good people.

Calling the hub this afternoon to verify our reservations I made in September.

How's the fall been in AK? Almost all our trees have dropped their leaves in central Iowa, although it's been drier than a bone all year, too.

I think the fall in Alaska has been pretty cold, but Arkansas has had a decent fall. ;D

The Northern Hillsides are changing. The southern Hillsides are just starting to change. It should be right at peak Nov 2-4th. Here's a photo that was taken earlier this week at Steel Creek on the Buffalo River.

Yeah Pete, we will do some GPS tracks if we have some guys that run GPS. I do. I'm not sure who else will. I'll put them in GPX format, post them on this thead ( or email or PM them to you if the file size gets too big) and whoever needs them can use that. I've got all week off. When does everyone what to show up at the Hub. I figure either Thursday night or Friday. Figured Saturday would be our big ride with lunch and pie at Oark.

I'm heading out Thursday morning, will be at the Hub that afternoon sometime. I don't have one of them fancy map machines but I can use one of them foldumup.map type files!

We had a real nice article in our local paper here about Harrison, AR and the Buffalo River. Much was made of how motorcycle friendly the area has become. I've been riding around that area for a long time and it's home to some of the best bike roads I've ever ridden. The Rockies and Sierras may have bigger mountains but their asphalt is no better. ::024::

Sara and I will be arriving at the Hub sometime Friday - departing central Iowa on Thursday late afternoon. Depending on how we feel after checking in/where everybody's at, we may go for a short jaunt around the area and pick up some snacks/beer?, etc...

Pete, I'm not sure what the TAT route is to be honest. I'm thinking after Pie at Oark on Saturday we could run up to White Rock. The look off there should be beautiful. Maybe on Friday if you want to ride some of it we can. IIRC you live on it so you should know it pretty well.

I'm going to get there on Thursday about noon or so.
