I am considering getting the ST as my next bike. I have yet to speak with a dealer about ordering one, and have a question or two about the bike's available options. Can the Accessory Packages be combined? I like both the X-Country Terrain and Comfort & Convenience packages. Or even better, can options be ordered À la carte? I like the option of heated grips, but really don't need the other itmes in the Comfort & Convenience package.

Also, looking to order one in the Northern California area for a decent price. Anyone one in the Bay area or Sacramento region have any input on a good dealer to contact?

Thanks for the help, TH.

Welcome to the forum TiierHawg! I believe the items in the various packages can be ordered A la carte. You may also want to search thru some of the topics here on the forum regarding 3rd party options for some of those accessories. We have a couple folks here from California so they could probably answer the question about dealers in your area.

'tis true : you can order individual items or packages that Yammy has set up @ different price points.

Some pkgs incl. heated grips and skid plates others are more inclusive with 2 - 3 luggage boxes and other items

What I learned from my dealer is the packages are not less expensive than a la carte. The packages will get you a free camera but will not save you any money.

Thanks for the answers all.

I guess I have some research to do. After reading the Seattle CW review thread, I am rethinking the accessory options I'd like to get. I'll be looking around in the mod forums to see what is available. I like the combo of the X-Country Terrain package, plus heated grips. Need to see the aftermarket kits out there that can do the same thing, but most likely better. Then will have to decide what I want/need. :-\

It is remarkable that Yamaha gives no price break whatsoever with these packages; all the competition (Suzuki, BMW, etc.) discounts the bundles. At least in the US, I think Yamaha has priced this bike as a loss-leader in base form, with expectations of selling a lot of overpriced accessories.

AFAIK, all the S10 options are simply bolt-on accessories installed by the dealer. So unless you're getting some special pricing with the bike from the dealer, free installation, or need to roll the accessories into your financing, there is little incentive to buy the bike with accessories initially - everything can be installed for essentially the same cost in a month or a year. And my guess is that there will be more/cheaper options as time goes on.
