G'day all, just thought I'd throw in here...

My name is Peter and I've just put a deposit on a white '14 S10E.
I've been a long time member on ADVRider and Stromtroopers, coming off an '11 DL 650, a lovely trouble-free no fuss motorcycle that just doesn't float my boat anymore... for sale if you know anybody interested.

I'm on the Gold Coast (Australia) and am keen to get in touch with other local owners. Coffee at Canungra is always a good start...

I bought the bike from Team Moto Yamaha in Nerang and now the wait begins... none to be had in the country (or so I'm told), so I'm at the wrong end of six-seven weeks of impatience... :'(
As TRGBox said, $21500 seems to be the price you'll get one for - I couldn't get another dollar out of them...

So see you out there in seven weeks; at least that gives me time to research some needed accessories. (do you call them "farkles" on this forum?)

Cheers,
Pete.

Welcome from Washington state and congrats on the [soon-to-be] new bike!

Farkles is the word...spend way to many $$$ on them.

Hi, Pete, Pretty sure we have met two years ago going to Tassie to the Stromtrooper gathering. Seems we have done the same thing. Have just purchased a 2014 E. Have done 1100 ks so far - seems like a good thing. Must catch up. Jim. Sad to see the 650 go.

Hey Jim... yes, I certainly remember you. A very memorable night on the ferry ::003::

A shame you're so far away; a bit difficult to get together for a ride, ah well, we will keep in touch though... Come to the Stromtroopers meeting in Esk, I'll be going.

G'Day, Peter, from Australia. We must be neighbours. No, wait …. I'm from the COLD coast. ::014:: Well, as I've said before, the wait won't seem like long … once it's over. Who knows, it may show up sooner. We're pulling for you. As far as farkles go, get your wallet ready. ::004:: to the Forum. R. ::022::

Got my first farkle delivered today. An Altrider rear luggage plate.

A nice piece of kit, very sturdy and well made... if only I had a bike to bolt it to...

My dealer rang today - no word from Yamaha when delivery will be. To me that means they haven't got a shipping date from Japan yet.
My guess would be 4 weeks at sea and a week in port in Melbourne before trucking to Queensland. I can see it easily being another 7 weeks, not the 6-7 weeks they quoted me 2 weeks ago. ::017::

Like I didn't know that would happen... Maybe Santa will bring it ::016::

Came from a Wee-strom too. I really enjoyed that bike but for few things....chain, a bit small for a passenger, minimal wind protection. See the S10 as a Super V-strom.
