I have been known to chide and harass anyone I ever witnessed trailer their Tenere.
I also have championed those that loaded theirs up like a pack mule and then set out for an adventure, including tent camping.

This stance was self-serving, of course, as I myself spent many of nights doing just the same.

But now I must suffer the humiliation, that I so deserve, for my hypocrisy. I now am guilty of BOTH trailering, AND sleeping comfortable.
Crow taste better than I thought though. 8)

If you ever need a spot to park that rig in Iowa Snake,, We have lots of room and the riding opportunities are endless in Iowa [Only endless because there is no start to it.]

I got friends in Iowa!
Some old, some more recent, some really recent.

And I've run dry on excuses to not come up and check it out. :)

So Steve, I might just have to take you up on that invite.
Thanks.

I mostly travel solo because I find riding with a partner to be very restrictive. I like to be able to decide as i go where I'm going to stay, or go, and not have to be in agreement about everything. I like photography and early mornings are wonderful for this, which means early to bed as well.

Camping is fun, i enjoy it, but after 3 nights it gets pretty gross if you don't have access to showers, so i will motel it for a night, have several showers and hot baths and sleep for way too long to recover. This also works good if you have been feeding the mosquitoes the past few days. Those buggers love me and bite in the oddest places, right through my clothing sometimes.

I don't bother with cooking equipment anymore. I just keep a million power bars and Jerky on the bike along with water, so i can go anywhere and always have food. I also pick up sandwiches from gas stops etc, or if i stay somewhere with a restaurant i am all over that. Love it.

I really enjoy the solo experience.

I also like to mix a hotel stay in after 2-3 days of camping. Couldn't skip the camp cooking though, that's half the fun. ;)

That reminds me one trip my friend and I stopped in Leadville for the night, it had been raining most of the ride up from New Mexico.
We hit some old dive Motel and fired up the MSR's in the bathroom and cooked our dinner.
My friend laughed, says to me I hoped they didn't think we were cooking meth or something.. ???
Yeah! outdoor cooking is part of the fun!! ::008::
